Wheeler Institute PhD Award

Our annual PhD award is a prestigious recognition of cutting-edge research that highlights the merit of the individual PhD student’s academic focus. The award identifies and celebrates research at the intersection of business and development that can have a ‘real world’ impact, particularly in developing countries.

The award is open to all PhD students at London Business School whose research is aligned to the Institute’s objectives and we will award £15,000 for academic excellence that can be a force for good in the world. Checklist for submission

  • Complete the PhD award application form
  • Submit your academic CV, listing publications, presentations, awards, or any other qualifications that are relevant to the award
  • Send a letter of support written by your supervisor

Research support from the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development

A primary objective of the Wheeler Institute is to stimulate and support research at the intersection of business and development, with a particular emphasis on research in the developing world. In addition to our PhD award, we also offer research support including a biannual call for proposals and access to our pre-doctoral research assistant programme.
